Seasonal Tip: Keep Your Well Running Strong Through Winter
With winter settling in, your well and pump work harder than you might think. Cold nights, increased holiday water use, and fluctuating temperatures can all put extra strain on your system.
Here are a few ways to support your well this month:
Check your pressure tank for consistent performance
Listen for unusual pump cycling that may indicate wear
Clear any debris or vegetation around your wellhead to maintain airflow and access
Staying proactive during the winter months helps ensure reliable water for your home, farm, or property all season long.
Call (623) 327-1200 or visit westerndrillingco.com to schedule a winter system check.

Did you know aquifers in Arizona can vary dramatically even between neighboring properties because the underground layers change quickly?
Some areas have shallow sandy or gravel zones that hold water, while others sit above thick clay layers or much deeper bedrock. Bedrock can block or redirect groundwater, forcing a well to be drilled deeper until it reaches a layer where water can actually move.
There are also buried old river channels underground that hold water unevenly. All of these natural geological differences are why one property might reach water at 250 feet while the property next door needs 600 plus! ... See MoreSee Less
